Spring in Japan

In two weeks, the plum blossoms will begin to bloom, leading the way in spring. Compared to the splendour of cherry blossoms, plum blossoms are more emotional for the Japanese people. The birds that herald spring are also waiting for the nectar of the plum blossoms.
立春
寒い日が続くけど、暦の上では春。春という心地よい言葉を聞くと心がほっとします。あと2週間もすれば春の先頭をきって梅の花が咲き始めます。桜の華やかさに比して梅の花は日本人の心に情緒をしみわたらせてくれます。春を知らせる鳥たちも梅の蜜を待ちわびています。
