Sapporo is in season for autumn leaves.
10月になれば札幌では気温がぐっと下がり街の中の木々も色づき始めます。市内には円山公園、藻岩山、大通公園、北海道大学、旧道庁など風光明媚な公園がたくさんあります。秋の札幌の風景も魅力的、さわやかで少し肌寒い空気の中をウオーキングするのもお勧めです。
In October, the temperature drops dramatically in Sapporo and the trees in the city begin to change colour. There are many scenic parks in the city, including Maruyama Park, Mt Moiwa, Odori Park, Hokkaido University and the Old Hokkaido Government Office. The scenery of Sapporo in autumn is also attractive, and walking in the crisp, slightly chilly air is recommended.

大通公園の紅葉も所々で楽しむことができます。あと１か月もするとクリスマスの雰囲気に様変わりします。気温が低い土地なので紅葉の色づきは鮮やかです。

札幌駅の北側にある北海道大学の広大な敷地のなかには芝生の広場やポプラ並木などがあり、外国の公園を思い起こさせる雰囲気が漂っています。こちらの紅葉も見事です。構内には博物館があり北海道の歴史や生物の歴史、科学技術などを見学することができます。
Located north of Sapporo Station, Hokkaido University’s vast grounds include grassy plazas and rows of poplar trees, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a foreign park. There is a museum on the premises where visitors can learn about Hokkaido’s history, biological history, science and technology.
札幌の公園と言えば円山公園。公園の中ではリスが木登りをしていたりと心身ともに癒されます。近くには円山動物園や北海道神宮もあり見どころいっぱいです。体力と時間に余裕があれば藻岩山に登ってみるのも良いです。
Maruyama Park is the most famous park in Sapporo. Squirrels can be seen climbing trees in the park, which soothes both body and soul. Nearby are Maruyama Zoo and Hokkaido Shrine, which offer many attractions. If you have the stamina and time, you can climb Mt Moiwa.
紅葉が終わると札幌は雪景色一色になります。それはそれで美しい風景なのですが、地元で暮らす方には厳しい季節です。
When the autumn leaves are finished, Sapporo becomes a snow-covered landscape. This is beautiful scenery in its own right, but it is a difficult season for local residents.
