北海道の食の魅力はお店で食べるものだけではありません。コンビニエンスストアで販売されているフードも「北海道でしか買えないもの」「北海道ならでは」のものがたくさんあります。そんな品々の一部をご紹介いたします。
The appeal of Hokkaido’s cuisine isn’t limited to what you eat in restaurants. Convenience stores also stock a wide range of food items that are ‘exclusive to Hokkaido’ or ‘unique to the region’. Here is a selection of some of these products.

When it comes to convenience stores in Hokkaido, Seicomart is undoubtedly the name that springs to mind. Although it does have a few branches in Ibaraki and Saitama prefectures, the vast majority are in Hokkaido.

Seicomart stocks a range of products you won’t find anywhere else, the standout examples being the katsu-don, pork bowls and rice balls made in-store at HOTCHEF. Everything is freshly prepared, and you can enjoy the katsu-don and pork bowls whilst they’re still piping hot. The egg topping is wonderfully runny too.

A famous Hokkaido speciality is the yakisoba bento. The sauce is slightly sweet, but the best thing about it is that it isn’t too rich. A nice touch is that it comes with soup. The soup—made by mixing the liquid you’d normally discard when cooking yakisoba with the included powder—goes perfectly with the noodles.

There are plenty of dishes unique to Hokkaido that will delight anyone who enjoys a drink. A long-standing favourite is Sapporo Beer Classic. It is a well-balanced, refreshing beer that is neither too light nor too bitter. A wide variety of chuhai (sake-based cocktails) are also appearing on the market, including those made with wine and others that skilfully blend shiso and lemon. The selection of snacks is, of course, extensive too. Snacks made with seafood from Hokkaido pair perfectly with drinks and are easy to enjoy.

For those who don’t drink alcohol, we recommend these soft drinks exclusive to Hokkaido. Ribbon Naporin is a local favourite that has been loved by the locals for generations. It’s similar to orange soda, yet has a slightly different flavour—a rather unique taste. Katsugen is also a traditional lactic acid drink. Although it resembles a yoghurt drink, it has a light texture and is perfect for drinking in large gulps.
对于不喝酒的人，推荐尝试北海道限定的软饮料。Ribbon Naporin是当地人长久以来喜爱的经典饮品。它看似橙味苏打水，但味道又与橙子略有不同，是一种奇妙的滋味。Katsugen也是一款传统乳酸菌饮料。虽然看起来像酸奶饮料，但口感清爽，可以畅快地大口畅饮。
