Experience China while in Japan
東京御徒町駅から徒歩5分、四川料理のお店「撒椒」。本格的四川料理を超えているガチ四川料理のお店。お店の中には日本人はほとんど見えず、中国人ばかり。それだけ中国本場の味ということ。
Sichuan cuisine restaurant ‘Sansho’, a 5-minute walk from Tokyo Okachimachi station. This is a restaurant of gachi Sichuan cuisine, which goes beyond authentic Sichuan cuisine. There are hardly any Japanese in the restaurant, only Chinese. That’s how authentic the taste of China is.

中国に駐在していた時は年に1回、四川省成都に遊びに行って麻婆豆腐やら担担麺、牛肉の水煮を堪能していました。この店ではまさにそこで堪能した味の料理を出してくれます。しかも、昼はリーズナブルな価格!(夜が高いというわけではありません)1,000円前後で大盛りの主菜の他に、副菜とご飯が食べ放題。他にはないコストパフォーマンス。今日、食べたのは牛肉の水煮。懐かしい味でした。
When I was stationed in China, once a year I would go to Chengdu in Sichuan Province to enjoy the likes of mapo tofu, dan dan noodles and water-boiled beef. This restaurant serves exactly the same dishes I enjoyed there. What’s more, the prices are reasonable at lunchtime! (Not that the nights are expensive.) For around 1,000 yen, you can have a large main dish, as well as all the side dishes and rice you can eat. Unbeatable value for money. Today, I had beef stewed in water. It tasted nostalgic.

中国とは違うのは辛さが三段階の中から選べること。勿論、選んだのは大辛。辛いスープにしっかりと煮込んだ牛肉、花椒がきいていて自分好みの味。
What makes it different from China is that there are three levels of spiciness to choose from. Of course, I chose the very spicy one. The spicy broth with well-cooked beef and pepper is just the way I like it.

そして副菜はこちらのテーブルから自分の好きなものを好きなだけ。牛肉の水煮があまりに量が多いので控えめになってしまいました。
And for side dishes, you can have as much as you like of your own choice from this table. The beef in water was too much for me, so I had to be moderate.

どれもこれもが懐かしい四川の味。四川に行きたくなりました。ちなみに夜はもっともっとメニューが増えて中国でしか食べられない料理が盛りだくさんです。
All of them are nostalgic Sichuan flavours. It made me want to go to Sichuan. By the way, the menu is much more extensive at night, with many dishes that you can only eat in China.
